Online Advent Calendar 2017 - December 1st

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Merry Christmas everyone.

Here is Day One of Serendipitous Jo's Online Advent Calendar

This is Mill Hill's Snowy Wonderland - which I stitched last year (2016).  It is one of my very favourite finishes.

Jo always sets us a little task for our blog post; we have to answer a Christmassy question:

How do you plan to spend Boxing Day?  Do you have any traditions associated with this day?

Well, normally, we all go to the movies for DS2's birthday, who was born on Boxing Day.

As, often, it is a bit flat the day after Christmas, we started to go see the blockbuster movies which usually came out on Boxing Day - all of the Lord of the Rings movies, the Harry Potter movies, and so on. And do you know, even though, DS2 is nearly 25, we still do it every year!

However, this year, TraderVic, DSister2, DD and DS2 and I will all be in Sicily for Christmas - so not sure what we will do with all of the Sicilian cousins but I am sure it will be lots of fun!

(Unfortunately, DS1 and DDIL will not be coming with us as they are moving to Brunei for two years instead! Yes, I said Brunei on the island of Borneo - my goodness!)

Here they are, all dressed up to go to a fancy dinner last evening.

Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone,

Now, please don't forget to visit the Advent Calendar on Jo's blog each day up until the Big Day!
hugs,

This post is an absolutely great start of Jo's advent calendar. So nice to see your wintery forest all in whites and blues again, I still remember when you stitched it.
Such an awesome adventure that lies ahead of you. Sicily must be wonderful at this time of the year, not too hot and not too cold. And when you have relatives there, all the better.

Have a great month of December and great holidays on Sicily island. If you ever manage it to Greece you will have to meet with me too!But I bet your next trip will have to be to Brunei with the most amazing palace in the world I think!
I love your Mill Hill pattern. Is it on perforated paper? I think it is one of my favourite patterns too and with the little bunny it reminds me of the first night I arrived in Finland years ago for Christmas and saw such snowed trees in my friend's garden and a hare jumped out of the dark!Exactly that view and those colours in Finland. Have a great month! AriadnefromGreece!

This Mill Hill stitching is beautiful, I love the colours even though they aren't traditional Christmas colours. Boxing day is also a birthday day in our house and my oldest was born on that day. x

Your Winter Wonderland is gorgeous! Love the icy sparkle. :)

We often go to a movie over Christmas break too! The kids are 29 and 31 this year and we'll be going to the new Star Wars. It's fun to know that someone else has this tradition.

What a pretty finish, Kaye! I wish we had Boxing Day here in the U.S. For many, the day after Christmas is simply "back to work," but not for me now that I've retired--ha ha!!

Brunei--oh my! Wishing them all the best--that sounds quite exciting!
